ADHD

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults. It is characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning or development. People with ADHD may have difficulty focusing on tasks, following instructions, organizing activities, or sitting still for long periods. Symptoms usually begin in childhood and can continue into adulthood if not managed properly. There are three main types of ADHD: predominantly inattentive type, predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type, and combined type. The exact cause is not fully known, but it may involve genetic factors, brain structure, and environmental influences. Diagnosis is done through clinical evaluation, behavioral assessments, and history-taking. Early identification is very important for effective management. Treatment may include behavioral therapy, lifestyle changes, parental training, educational support, and sometimes medication. With proper care and support, individuals with ADHD can lead successful and productive lives.
